The College of Behavioral and Health Sciences recognizes outstanding faculty members who demonstrate exceptional commitment to education, research, and professional service. These awards honor the dedication and achievements of our faculty across multiple departments.
Career Achievement Award
The Career Achievement Award recognizes full-time faculty members with a minimum 10 years of service to MTSU at the rank of Professor or 15 years of full-time service to the University who have demonstrated sustained excellence and significant contributions in teaching, research/scholarship/creative activity, and service throughout their career.

Outstanding Teaching Award
Continuing a 50-year tradition funded by the MTSU Foundation, this award recognizes full-time faculty who have worked at MTSU for at least four years and demonstrate exceptional teaching effectiveness, student engagement, innovative pedagogical approaches, and commitment to student mentorship and achievement.

Distinguished Research Award
This award recognizes research achievement defined as “original scholarly activity, which generates new knowledge, product or application.” The award represents the combined results of a systematic research program. Recipients also receive a monetary honorarium from the Middle Tennessee State University Foundation.
